Birth is a intense journey—not just for mom, but for baby, too. 💙
When a baby is born with a nuchal cord (the umbilical cord wrapped around the neck) the physical tension and strain on their delicate neck, base of the skull, and nervous system can linger long after delivery.
For this sweet little guy, that subtle tension left his body stuck in a state of high alert making it nearly impossible for him to relax, settle down, and self regulate into deep, restful sleep.
✨ How Paediatric Osteopathy Helps:
Using gentle, precise, and soft hands on techniques, cranial osteopathy helps to:
Release strain: Softens tension around the neck, cranial bones, and spinal tissues.
Calm the nervous system: Shifts baby out of “fight or flight” and into a parasympathetic state where healing and rest happen.
Support self-regulation: Helps their body find balance, making it easier to drift off to sleep and stay settled.
Seeing him finally let go and rest deeply during his treatment is everything. 🕊️
If your little one is struggling with sleep, irritability, or experienced a tricky birth, gentle osteopathic care might be the missing piece.

Yes Ladie!!!!
Say it Loud & Clear!!!!! 💚💙 💚💙 💚💙
"Major in Massage Therapy. Minor in Laundry." 😂
Honestly... this shirt isn't wrong.
People see the treatment, but they don't always see everything that happens before and after.
✨ Washing and folding endless sheets.
✨ Sanitizing the treatment room.
✨ Restocking supplies.
✨ Charting.
✨ Answering messages.
✨ Running a business.
✨ Continuing education.
✨ And then doing it all over again the next day.
Funny enough... it reminds me a lot of motherhood.
As moms, we often get recognized for the big moments, but so much of what we do happens behind the scenes—the laundry, the cleaning, the planning, the comforting, the million little things that keep life moving.
Whether you're a massage therapist or a mom, there's so much care happening that no one ever sees.
So yes... my major is Massage Therapy.
But my minor? Definitely laundry. 🤭
What's an "unofficial minor" that comes with your job?

Birth isn't a test you pass or fail.
Sometimes birth unfolds differently than we hoped. Plans change. Unexpected challenges arise. That doesn't mean you failed.
Your strength isn't measured by how your baby is born. It's measured by the love, courage, and resilience you bring to the journey.
You did not fail. You gave birth.
Sometimes, no one and nothing is at fault. Sometimes systems fail us. But you? You cannot fail at birth.

Well done ACOG!!!!
📣 Breaking news for the doula community which will have major impacts on maternity care.📣
DONA International is proud to endorse "Partnering with Doulas in Clinical Settings," a new Committee Statement released by the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists - ACOG.
This landmark guidance recognizes doulas as valued partners in maternity care and offers a blueprint for strengthening collaboration between doulas, clinicians, and health systems. By fostering mutual respect, communication, and shared commitment to patient-centered care, ACOG outlines a path toward improving both the birth experience and maternal health outcomes.
This Committee Statement and guidelines represent the collaborative work of ACOG's Committee on Advancing Equity in Obstetric and Gynecologic Health Care together with Adetola Louis-Jacques, MD; Rolel Mbaidjol-Kabra, MD; Angela Daniel, MSSW, CLC, BDT/AdvCD (DONA); Lauren A. Graves, CD; and Averjill Rookwood Lacey, CD.
We are grateful to everyone, including our current President-Elect, who contributed their expertise and perspective to this important guidance, which reflects a shared vision for respectful, collaborative, and patient-centered maternity care.
"It was an incredible honor to be part of this committee and to work alongside such dedicated doulas and physician champions who share a commitment to improving maternity care. This guidance demonstrates what is possible when we come together with mutual respect, a shared purpose, and a commitment to keeping birthing persons at the center of every decision." - Angela Daniel
"Partnering with Doulas in Clinical Settings" was endorsed by DONA International, Doula Trainings International, the National Black Doulas Association, and the National Health Law Program (NHeLP).
DONA President, Erica Lane, CD/PCD(DONA), shares what this means for our community.
