ANDARA Gallery is introducing a new collection of small paintings by renowned Canadian encaustic painter Andrew Csafordi featuring landscapes and Countyscapes that remind us of our roots. Based in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Csafordi's textured works explore deep, evocative themes of nature, memory, and our foundational connection to the land. By fusing melted beeswax, damar resin, and rich oil pigments, Csafordi builds multi-dimensional surfaces that evoke a powerful feeling of returning to our ancestral or rural roots. Artist Andrew Csafordi is a master of the ancient technique of encaustic painting – using pure melted beeswax and demar resin mixed with dried pigments or oils. ​He then applies rich layers of imagination, as well as materials such as wood, metal or fibre to his impressionist painting style. Creating textured paintings that call out to be touched, Andrew’s contemporary work invites the viewer to become explorers within his luminous compositions.

For his latest show "VORTEX", Andrew collaborated with Canadian musician Astrid Young . Inspired by lyrics from songs on her new album "The Beautiful Can Get Away With Murder” ... he's created several large works. This featured work is titled "SPACESHIP" inspired from her song of the same name.

Central to this unique collab, ANDARA Gallery artists - painter Andrew Csafordi and photographer and digital artist Tara Wilkinson - have created a new exhibition of artworks inspired by songs on Astrid’s newest album, “The Beautiful Can Get Away with Murder.”

In addition to the artwork displayed on the gallery’s walls … visitors will see a bottle of wine paired with each VORTEX work of art - curated in partnership with Closson Chase Vineyards, Karlo Estates Winery, The Grange of Prince Edward Winery, Rosehall Run Vineyards, Sandbanks Estate Winery and Three Dog Winery.

Smartphone holders will enjoy an Enhanced Visitor Experience thanks to an NFC chip embedded in the tag of each VORTEX artwork and on featured bottles of wine at the participating wineries. By tapping their smartphones to the tag, visitors will be able to instantly hear the song that inspired the art, view the artwork digitally, learn about the artists and musican, access tasting notes about the paired wine, and other related content, powered by Musical Bead.
