📚✨ Author Spotlight of the Month ✨📚
This month, we're featuring Good Enough to Eat by Lizzy Rockwell, a fun and informative book that introduces children to healthy eating and the important role food plays in helping our bodies grow strong.
Filled with colourful illustrations and easy-to-understand explanations, this book encourages children to learn about different food groups, make healthy choices, and develop a positive relationship with food from an early age. 🍎🥦
Reading books like Good Enough to Eat helps spark curiosity, build healthy habits, and support a lifelong love of learning—values that align beautifully with the Montessori approach. 💛

Did you know?
Inviting children into the kitchen does more than build memories—it builds healthy habits.
Harvard’s Nutrition Source highlights that children who participate in meal prep—washing fruits, chopping vegetables, helping with ingredients—are more likely to engage with healthy foods and feel empowered by their role.
At AVMS, we encourage children to help serve, prepare and clean up because we know these simple moments foster responsibility, curiosity and lifelong wellness.

The clay pot painting activity brought out so much imagination. The children experimented with brushes, finger painting, and colour mixing as they decorated their own pots with pride. Thank you, Croc A Doodle, for visiting our summer camp.

🍎👩🍳 August’s Family Challenge is here! 👨🍳🥕
Invite your child into the kitchen and have them help prepare a snack or meal together! Whether they’re washing fruits and vegetables, stirring ingredients, spreading toppings, or setting the table, every task is an opportunity to learn and grow. 💛
Cooking together encourages independence, fine motor development, practical life skills, confidence, and responsibility—all while creating meaningful family memories. Plus, children are often more excited to try foods they’ve helped prepare! 🥣✨
We’d love to see your little chef in action! DM us a photo of your child helping in the kitchen for a chance to be featured on our account. Happy cooking! 📸🍓
