Our JK to Grade 2 students had a wonderful day at Pingleโ€™s Farm for our first field trip of the school year!

From exploring the orchard to learning about the apple life cycle, pollination, bees, and the many fall crops grown on the farm, our students enjoyed a hands on learning experience surrounded by the beauty of the season.

The fun continued with a wagon ride around the farm, opportunities to meet the beekeepers and animal keepers, and plenty of time to explore and play at Playland!

It was a day filled with discovery, outdoor adventure, and smiles all around. Alhamdulillah, what a beautiful way to kick off our field trips for the year! ๐Ÿ

Truth and Reconciliation at BES ๐Ÿงก

We welcomed Br. David, a fellow Indigenous Muslim and guest from the Indigenous community, to our school. Br. David shared age appropriate presentations with our students about Indigenous Peoples, Turtle Island, and the meaning behind Every Child Matters.

Our students also engaged in age appropriate activities and learning opportunities that encouraged reflection, understanding, and meaningful conversations.

We are grateful to Br. David for taking the time to share his knowledge and experiences with our students as we continue to learn, reflect, and honour the importance of Truth and Reconciliation.

๐Ÿงก Every Child Matters.

Our first event of the school year is always Terry Fox!

Alhamdulillah, our students had the opportunity to learn about Terry Fox, his incredible journey, and the foundation that continues his legacy.

Our students then walked and ran around the school community, while also coming together to donate to this important cause. Weโ€™re so proud of their enthusiasm, generosity, and participation!

After their run, students enjoyed a well deserved ice cream sandwich as a sweet treat! ๐Ÿฆ

JazakAllah khair to all our BES families who supported this meaningful cause!

Alhamdulillah, what a beautiful start to the school year! ๐Ÿ“šโœจ

Weโ€™re excited to be back into our routines, welcoming our students back and settling into another year of learning and growth. By Curriculum Night, everyone was getting comfortable in their new classrooms and settling into a nice routine.

It was also a wonderful opportunity for parents to visit the classrooms, meet their childrenโ€™s teachers, and learn more about what they can look forward to throughout the year.

Hereโ€™s to a year filled with learning, growth, and wonderful memories, inshAllah!

This summer, our 1st place Poetry Slam winner, Aasiya, was invited to perform her poem on the stage at Muslim Fest! ๐ŸŽคโœจ MuslimFest

MashaAllah, what an incredible honour and opportunity! We are so proud of our now Grade 2 student and canโ€™t wait to see where her talent takes her next. ๐Ÿ’›
