Partial Solar Eclipse! Occurring in the early afternoon on August 12th. Solar eclipses occur periodically when the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth.

The eclipse process will start at 12:53 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12th, with the Sun being midway through the eclipse with maximum coverage by 1:40 p.m. Then the Moon will reveal more of the Sun’s disk until the eclipse ends at 2:27 p.m. Join the PAA at Riverview Park & Zoo anytime after noon hour and safely enjoy this event.

Come out to the “Gazebo” (south of the fountain) at the Riverview Park & Zoo, 1300 Water St., Peterborough, and view it through safe specialized equipment provided by members of the Peterborough Astronomical Association (PAA).

Swim to Survive is a Drowning Prevention Program offered to children 5-12 years old. It teaches and evaluates basic fundamental skills necessary to survive an unexpected fall into deep water. The program is offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Beavermead Beach.
