Small acts of kindness are simple, quick actions we can take to help others or brighten their day, contributing to feelings of connection and community. This could be holding the door for someone, helping to pick up something that someone dropped, offering to help tidy up, or other small gestures.

✅ Today’s Challenge: Complete one small act of kindness today. Offer a smile, a greeting, or a helping hand. If we all participate in one small act of kindness, imagine the impact we can have across KPR!

Did you know saying "Good Morning" can help you do better on a test? Social connection activates the brain’s reward system. When we feel welcomed and seen, our brains are in a better state to learn new things and solve tricky problems.
✅ Today’s Challenge: Challenge 3 people to a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors! This could be at school, at home, or somewhere else in your day. Try choosing people that you don’t usually connect with, people you would like to reconnect with, or someone you think might need a connection.

Connection comes in many forms: with ourselves, with others, and with the land around us. Taking time to notice the environment can instantly improve your mood and help manage stress. KPR schools have so many beautiful spaces to explore!
✅ Today’s Challenge: Take a moment to pause and connect with your environment. Notice something you can see, something you can feel, something you can hear, something you can smell, and something you can taste. Try writing these down or creating a drawing of what you notice.

Did you know giving a compliment can ease stress?
Sharing kind words is a great way to make connections with others. Compliments don’t just make people smile - they can help build confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging. When you give or receive a compliment, your brain releases oxytocin – a chemical that helps us feel happy and closer to others and that can also ease stress and pain!

✅ Today’s Challenge: Share a kind word or offer a compliment to brighten someone’s day.

It’s Mental Health Week! At KPR, we’re reflecting on the importance of mental health and well-being in our schools and workplaces. Connection is vital to good mental health. Whether through a meaningful conversation or a simple act of kindness, we are committed to creating spaces where everyone feels seen, supported, and connected.
The Canadian Mental Health Associating (CMHA) is encouraging Canada to “Come Together” by connecting with community and with yourself. To learn more about Canadian Mental Health Week, visit: https://cmha.ca/mental-health-week/
KPR is inviting all students, staff, and families to take part in a Daily Connection Challenge. Check back each day for a connection fact and a quick activity to help you bond with yourself and your community.
Stay tuned for our first challenge!
