It was with such sadness that we learned about the passing of our beloved teacher, Mr. Dean Pomeroy. Mr. Pomeroy was full of energy and ready for the next task that helped his students learn to be stronger leaders, and that would benefit Westmount students. His Friday pizza program was loved by students for the fun and the great sports equipment, and by parents as it meant one less lunch to make! As the Westmount staff, students and the school community work through this shock, the Westmount School Council would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family at this very sad time. To all the staff, and students who have been touched by Mr. Pomeroy's energy and enthusiasm for all things Westmount and Pedal for Hope, please keep those memories close at heart. He will be missed.

We would like to thank all of our front line workers - we are truly grateful for every second that you are risking your life for others. We would also like to thank Westmount teachers and staff in advance for all their hard work to keep our children engaged and learning.

At Westmount we believe in community, together we are stronger, and together we will get through this. We look forward to seeing everyone soon. ❤

Once again Westmount will be participating in the Peterborough toy drive by collecting toys. Alivea Earle has taken on this project and will once again be organizing a dance show for students to attend who contribute to the toy drive. 🥁🏈

Tavin Yurick has also taken the initiative to organize a hot chocolate and play day on December 13th to help supply hats and mitts to those in need. Students can purchase hot chocolate for $2. All proceeds will go towards the purchase of hats and mitts! 🧤🧣

Let’s make this Toy Drive and Hat and Mitts Drive a success. We will be accepting Toys and Hats and Mitts until December 13th.

Just a reminder Westmount parents that clothing orders are due by tomorrow, Friday, October 11!! Please make sure your form is returned to the school whether you pay by school cash online or by cheque. Thank you so much for your support and we can’t wait to see the hallways turn into a sea of purple and the new Westmount logo!

***REMINDER*** FAMILY GAME NIGHT IS COMING UP!!! Make sure to sign up with us ASAP as there are only a few spaces left for what is going to be a very fun night with the family!!!

Join us for a FREE evening of fun with the family, trying out different kinds of games. Snacks provided. Games also available for purchase (cash/cheque) and proceeds go towards the school library game supply.

The Art Sale & Auction is this Thursday - be sure to come out!!! The kids are so proud of their work & we are raising funds for the new outdoor classroom and playground improvements.
