to a very special CMS milestone!
We are so proud to officially welcome Baby Mason to our CMS family — our very first CMS staff grandchild — grandson to Mrs. Howcroft, our Pre-Casa Supervisor.
Mason was born on May 24, 2026, to proud parents Claire (CMS Alumni ’14) and Arnold.
It is extra special to see the CMS family continue into another generation. From being a CMS student herself to now welcoming her little one into the world, Claire will always be a part of the CMS story — and we are absolutely delighted that Baby Mason is now part of it, too!

We always love hearing about the accomplishments of our former students. If you have news, awards, achievements, or exciting updates to share, please send them our way! We’d love the opportunity to celebrate you, too. 😊

Congratulations to our incredible CMS spellers on their outstanding performances at the Canada National Super Spelling Bee!
Competing against 181 of the nation's top young spellers, Abeer, Avyaan, and Levi each advanced to the final three rounds of the competition and finished in the top half of all competitors nationwide—a remarkable achievement!
Abeer secured an impressive 62nd-place finish nationally.
Avyaan and Levi both completed the entire competition, including the written examination and on-stage championship rounds, earning a tie for 80th place in Canada.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work, perseverance, courage, and sportsmanship. Representing CMS on the national stage is an amazing accomplishment, and we congratulate all three students on this well-deserved success!

to an unforgettable evening! 🌻💛
As we look back at these photos from our 2026 CMS Spring Show, Tiny Seeds. Mighty Hearts., we're still smiling at the incredible confidence, expression, and joy our students brought to the stage at the beautiful Market Hall Performing Arts Centre. Every performance was a wonderful reminder of what can grow when children are encouraged to shine.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing staff, talented guest musicians, our wonderful CMS Community Choir, and the many "super" parents whose time, talents, and support helped bring this production to life.
A very special thank you goes to our incredible music teacher, Ms. Samantha Cameron. From writing the show and preparing our students to guiding every moment of the performance, her creative vision and dedication made the evening truly unforgettable. We are so grateful for the inspiration and love through the arts that she brings to our CMS family each and every day.
Finally, thank you to all of our families for your support—whether you were practicing songs at home, volunteering at our prop and costume nights, or cheering from the audience. Your encouragement helped make this celebration of our students so special.
Here's to the Tiny Seeds that continue to grow into Mighty Hearts.

This summer, Sehaj, one of our CMS students, had the incredible opportunity to attend the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Camp of Inventions in Baltimore — and what an amazing experience it was!
Throughout the camp, Sehaj collaborated with students from around the world, including Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, the UAE, India, and across North America. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn alongside such a diverse and talented group of young innovators. Sehaj was honoured for exceptional performance on the assessments taken as part of the CTY Talent Search.
The program was filled with hands-on STEM learning, from exciting science experiments to exploring concepts like parallel and series circuits. One of Sehaj’s biggest accomplishments was designing a prototype called the “Rotastic Finger”—a supportive finger device intended to help individuals living with neuropathy, arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, or children who need extra stability for writing and holding objects. His dream is to continue developing the concept into a fully robotic model in the future.
Sehaj proudly presented his invention to an audience of more than 150 students, parents, and staff. To top it all off, he successfully applied for and received approval for a patent for his invention—an incredible achievement at such a young age!
Congratulations, Sehaj! We are so proud of your creativity, curiosity, and determination. We can’t wait to see where your passion for innovation takes you next!

Best of luck to our CMS Super Spellers!
After qualifying at our very first CMS Super Spelling Bee, three talented students are heading to Ottawa to compete in the Canada Super Spelling Bee National Championships!
In the coming days, they’ll put their spelling skills to the test alongside students from across the country. Their dedication, perseverance, and hard work have brought them to this exciting opportunity, and we couldn’t be more proud.
Please join us in wishing them the very best as they represent CMS on the national stage. Good luck—we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way! ❤️🐝

☀️ With the warm summer weather continuing, it's a great reminder to stay cool when you can! Whether you're visiting a local beach, running through a splash pad, enjoying a cool treat, staying hydrated, or taking a break indoors during the hottest part of the day, there are plenty of ways to enjoy summer safely.
Just before the end of the school year, our Middle Elementary students cooled off with a fun visit to the splash pad at King Edward Park. Here are a few highlights from their last day of school!

For many, Canada Day is a time for pride, celebration, and coming together as a nation. May this day also remind us of the importance of honouring those who have cared for this land since time immemorial and celebrating the continued diversity of all who call Canada home.
