Cultural Studies emerges as a counterpart to traditional forms of humanistic study.

Cultural Studies at Trent offers many opportunities to take workshop courses in the visual arts, theatre, music, film, video production and creative writing. The department distinguished itself in that it features a wide array of approaches to cultural theory. The department also examines the relation between the products of culture and the social, political and subjective contexts.

Happy May Everybody,

Sunday May 24th is going to be the event date for Perennial N°7 at the ever hospitable Embassy Bar. This is the 7th annual WLLDDZZY expo of non-monochrome work completed in the deep of winter. Woven textiles and mixed media work have been covering the walls since April. Floral, camouflage and bio-mimricy themes are present under the purpose of pareidolia and pattern generation. New prints, woven textiles and 100s of pages of drawings and zines will also be presented for the occasion.

There will be food and sunlight at 6:30, while supplies last. A little later-on some dj pals + myself will be spinning vinyl, and Jarrett Prescott will be showcasing some unreleased deep house tracks.
