We are so pleased to introduce a meditation workshop at the library. Lee Smith, a retired registered psychologist, is offering this 6-week meditation workshop free to participants.
So why meditation? Lot’s of reasons, but one quick view would be this: Meditation works and exercises the brain’s systems that mediate our awareness. With this exercise these systems strengthen. Consequently, we just tend to start living more moments a little more dialled in. Happening to pay more careful attention to your life as you live it may put you in more known contact with the joys that we miss while preoccupied. Further, we learn about this wild, wild mind of ours, about the nature of much of that judgemental and critical thought that goes on, and how to work with that. We can develop understanding and skill in working with and decreasing stress and anxiety, anger, a host of their physical effects, and live with more kindness to oneself and others.
Pre-registration required, stop into Apsley or call 705-656-4333
Registration Deadline September 5th.
Minimum Registration Required to run - 10 people
To 'get' as much from this workshop as you would probably like, it is very important that you attend all classes. Further, getting the most from the workshop requires making a commitment to daily practice, which will need 20 to 30 minutes or more of your time every day. I encourage you to carefully look at your willingness and ability to invest in yourself in this way before registering.Because of the considerable investment of your time and energy that this workshop asks of you, and if you’re not acquainted with meditation and mindfulness, please do a little research so that you can make the most informed choice and commitment that you can.
*Participants must be able to attend all 6 weeks

🍂 There’s still room to join us this September.
September 18–20, we’re welcoming Todd Norian — internationally acclaimed yoga teacher and founder of Ashaya Yoga — to Willow for a very special three-day experience:
Yoga for Happiness: Rebalancing the Five Elements Within
🌿 Earth. Water. Fire. Air. Sky.
Over four sessions — Friday evening, two sessions Saturday, and Sunday — we’ll explore the wisdom of the Five Elements through movement, philosophy, live mantra and sound, and hands-on guidance.
And this weekend is for everyone.
Whether you’re a yoga teacher, a dedicated practitioner, or simply curious about taking your practice deeper, you are welcome. All levels of experience are invited.
Certified yoga teachers can also earn Yoga Alliance Continuing Education credits for their participation.
Todd brings decades of experience, extraordinary depth of knowledge, and so much heart to his teaching. And because we’re intentionally keeping this gathering intimate, you’ll have the opportunity to learn directly from Todd, ask questions, receive individual guidance, and experience his teaching without getting lost in a huge crowd.
This isn’t about squeezing something meaningful into a one-hour class.
It’s an entire weekend to stop, breathe, learn, connect, and come home to yourself.
