Late thank you to Myrlene for her “Freedom by Design” presentation at The Common Space last week, but some things take a little time to settle, and honestly, that feels fitting.
She said something that stopped me mid-sentence: a cluttered home isn’t filled with possessions. It’s filled with postponed decisions.
And then this: everything we hold onto begins asking something from us, quietly, every single day. We tell ourselves “out of sight, out of mind,” but she called it what it is. We just get good at pretending.
Myrlene’s framework, Mindfulism, isn’t about owning less for the sake of less. It’s about choosing, on purpose, what is enough to support the life you’re actually building. She flipped the question from “where can we put this?” to “does this belong in the life we’re creating?”
Your home should reflect the life you want to live. Not the life you’re no longer living. That one landed.
Her Freedom by Design process moves through Discover → Detach → Discern → Decide → Design. It’s not a one-time purge. It’s a way of thinking.
James Clear says “you don’t rise to the level of your goals, you fail to the level of your systems.” Myrlene is building the system for your space, and by extension, your mind.

What if your home isn’t supporting you - but quietly asking something from you every day?
In this transformative talk, Myrlene introduces Mindfulism™, a powerful philosophy that shifts the conversation beyond minimalism and maximalism.
Instead of focusing on having less or more, Mindfulism is about intentionally choosing what deserves space in your life - so your environment supports you, reduces mental load, and aligns with who you are now.

A big thank you to for such a thoughtful and collaborative session last night at The Common Space.
From websites and social media to strategy, clarity, and intentional online presence… there were so many great conversations and questions around the room.
One of the best parts of these evenings is the shared learning, collaboration, and camaraderie that happens naturally when people come together with curiosity and openness.
This is exactly what The Common Space is all about 🤍
