Do you still need to register for courses? Well, good news, you have until September 24th to add and change your fall and full-year courses.
Courses and course sections can be added, dropped and changed in the MyTrent Self-Service Portal. Additional resources such as the Academic Timetable and the Academic Calendar can be found in MyTrent as well.
If you need to speak with an Academic Advisor, you can do so by booking an appointment in the Student Experience Portal or you can book a same-day appointment by calling the Academic Advising line at 705-748-1488. Same-day appointments are available from Monday to Friday and can be booked starting at 8:50am.

Make sure you're prepared for course registration with a few key steps!
1. Have your course sections planned in Self-Service Portal for each semester that you plan to take.
2. Have a list of back-up course sections and courses for when courses fill up.
3. Registration opens at 8:00am EST. You can set a reminder for yourself so you don't forget.

An exciting part of course registration is building your own class schedule. Use the Academic Timetable to search for in-person courses or online courses; morning classes vs. afternoon and evening classes; choose from different sections to build your day.

How do I Submit a Prerequisite Waiver Request Form on Self-Service?
- Schedule the course section in Self-Service.
- Go to the myTrent Portal > Academics tab > Forms section and click the Request Prerequisite Request Waiver form icon.
The planned course from Self-Service will be available to select on the form.
- Confirmation of the request will be emailed to their Trent student email account.
- The department offering the course will review the request and either approve, deny, or request further information.
- The student will be notified by email when a prerequisite waiver request has been approved or denied.
How do I add a full-year course to my schedule in Self-Service?
Add the full-year (Fall-Winter 2026-27) course to your 2026 UG Fall Term plan.
After registering for the planned full-year course, the course section will appear on your schedule for the 2026 UG Fall Term.
Although it is not visible, the registration system will automatically register you in the 2026 UG Winter Term section.
How do I Register for a course section with a waitlist?
- Is there another section of the course that is open for registration? If yes, and it fits with your schedule, choose a new section.
- To add yourself to a waitlist for a course section, the Register Button on Self-Service will be a blue Waitlist Button.
- You can view your place on the waitlist under the course section details on your Course Plan in Self-Service
- Once a space is available, the first waitlisted student will receive an email notice to register for the section within 72 hours.
- The Waitlist Button will turn to a Blue Register Button to complete the registration for this course section.
- If you do not register within 72 hours of receiving the email, the spot will go to the next student on the waitlist.
- The course section will switch to Planned on your Course Plan and you will have the option to add yourself to the waitlist again.
