Ping Pong Toss

Here’s what you’ll need: ping pong balls, 4 small containers, a permanent marker.

1. Use a permanent marker to write words in specific word families on individual ping pong balls. Write the words on both sides of the ball.

Here are some words to get you started:

2. Use a marker to write the rhymes of each word family on the containers. You may also write the words on the words with a dry erase marker. You should be able to wipe it off afterward.

3. Have your child choose a ping pong ball and read the word by saying each sound. Then have him/her throw the ping pong ball into the corresponding bucket.

Kinesthetic Sight Words

Add some fine sand into a pencil box and give your child an un-sharpened pencil. They can trace the sight words in the sand. The pencil box keeps the sand neat and tidy.
