This coming weekend we have two basket classes offered by John Wager. These classes have been two years in the works and we’re really excited that they’re almost upon us. John is Michi Saagiig Anishinaabe, from the Curve Lake First Nation. He lives on the Curve Lake First Nation reserve and makes his living selling a variety of handmade wares; wooden spoons, baskets, knives, bowls, cups, canoe paddles, and leatherwork. He enjoys sharing what he has learned along his creative life’s journey. @johnswoodenware On Saturday he will be teaching a Folded Birch Bark Basket class, and on Sunday he will be teaching a Black Ash Basket class. Community Building Project: Orange Baptist Church (Virginia) The project will take place September 13 - 25 at the church-owned soccer field, and we look forward to having workshops prior to the build, so stay tuned for information and registration.
