Interior Salish open Art Studio - whats on our minds? Natural art! Thats whats on our minds. Another fantastic day, as indigenous peoples of this land we made things we needed for daily life, or for ceremony or give-aways, these days remind me of when I was a child and at our grandparents we would make things like string beads or do loom beading or make baskets to put our roots and berries in come harvesting time. We have been doing natural art all this time and for generations. Here is what is happening today

well its artful Thursday and what happened yesterday? It was a creative day at Enowkin Centre's Open Art studio - what did the interiore salish artists create? Well yesterday produced some birch bark earrings, a Devils' claw necklace, actually several Devil's claw necklaces, my seashell turtle was glued together and left to sit over night. Today that turtle will be painted. Last night driving home. I thought about the day in the studio and how working with natural materials really brings people together. Theres sharing of ideas, jokes, comraderie - and creative ideas just flow. I made a Devil's Claw necklace in pink of course. Enjoy the day today and whatever it may bring, may ir bring something artistic your way :-)..and shout out to Roslyn you have an appointment here today
