The Great Kid Escape is four days of FREE indoor fun for kids and families, with inflatables, movies, art, games and room to play.

With smoke and summer heat keeping many families and evacuees from the Bald Range Fire indoors, we wanted to create a fun, healthy place where kids can get out, enjoy some clean indoor air, and just be kids.

If you are able, donations of diapers and hygiene products are also appreciated to support local families.

𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟐𝐭𝐡 - The Comfort Centre is open again today from 10-8 at Princess Margaret Secondary Penticton.
We are kid and pet friendly.
Providing a comforting space for evacuees to gather and to get out of the smoke.

We have games, crafts, puzzles, toys, showers (accessible available too), wifi, power charging stations, coffee, cold drinks, an open gym, tables and chairs, pet supplies, snacks and hygiene products.
Penticton Public Library and Penticton & District Community Arts Council will continue to support the Centre today with artists, crafts and story time.

Par-T-Perfect Okanagan will be setting up in the gym today! 😍

Today is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQIA+ People, also known as Red Dress Day. The Final Report of the National Inquiry into MMIWG emphasized education as a critical component in dismantling the systemic racism that contributes to this violence. As teachers, let’s honour victims and survivors by teaching truth, challenging injustice, and creating classrooms grounded in respect, dignity, and care.
