How we came to be.

I Teresa lost my sis Jeannie and have been dealing with greif since her passing. This year I decided to run for a cause. Cancer was one cause, since I have lost so many family and friends from the disease. The other was PTSD since been in the health Industy and have seen and know so many who dealt with it, myself included. When I was looking for events I found nothing in the Okanagan area for PTSD. In the mean time I went to a meeting for WFG my mentor at the meeting said “If you want to establish your self the best way is to be involved in the comminity and give back “ this stuck with me. I have always wanted to make a community a better place and give back. Still looking for an event for PTSD I started looking else where and found a run in Abbotford. Wondering why the Okanagan has nothing. I phoned my girlfriend Shelly asking if she knew any events for PTSD she replied saying no but would ask around, nothing was found. I started looking into PTSD in general and found that there was not alot of information about it. I wanted to do something like an event to donate and help people who are coping. Realizing that there was a huge need and nothing was out there I felt I needed to step up and do something about it. So I invited Shelly over and we talked over coffee and I realized that she knows alot about non-profit and boards. She has been a dispatcher for many years she has peronally seen and experienced the affects of PTSD. So I asked her if she wanted to join this journey with me. I’m so grateful that she said “yes”. So this is just the beginning we plan to do more so stay tuned!
