After learning about Inukshuks from Ms Anthony we turned our talents to making our own-some with fossils

Here are some of our young scientists scouring the slopes for fossils today. Some pretty amazing finds!

Our intrepid geologists were creating sedimentary sandwiches in order to compare sedimentary rock formation with making a layered sandwich. Yum.

Congratulations to all grade sevens for acting as mentors and leaders at the first annual Carmi Elementary Fun Day, organized by KVR. This was a great way to provide a wonderful, memorable day for others.

Here are some pics from our outing to Casa Ouzeria today. Yum! It was great to see Mrs. Sawkins again, and it was also great to have Mr. Devoto with us as well. Here's to ancient Greece! Hopa!

It's a busy time at KVR. Students are into their second set of books for Book Club. First round of meetings are this week. Students should be reading every evening. There are two major research projects in Socials and Science, both requiring library research, fact finding and project design. This Friday, division 7-11 is off to Casa Ouzeria for a Greek style lunch. Grade seven drama students begin performing their parody of Romeo and Juliet next week. The show runs two weeks. Come and check out the talent. On June 18, the entire grade seven floor is putting on a fun day for the kids at Carmi elementary. Lots of planning to go yet. And of course, it's the traditional grade seven beach day on June 19, celebrating the end of the year. A reminder to everyone that the first three days of the following week are not holidays unless all work is completed....and the missing task list is growing! Hint hint. Any incomplete assignments after June 12 will be completed during I-days. You've been warned.
