Hello! Long time no talk!!

Over the past couple of months I haven’t been posting because I have been working on an amazing opportunity that is coming up very soon!

I am excited to announce that I will be moving to New Zealand to teach!

I have been quite busy with getting paperwork completed and the list of things to get done before the move!

I am teaching Kindergarten at a school in Auckland and I am leaving the second week of June till the end of December; unless I stay out there longer haha

I will be bringing back tutoring and music lessons online very soon! I will post about scheduling and timings once I get settled with the time difference. There will be one-on-one sessions as well as group sessions, so stay tuned for that!

Life update: I MADE A SWEATER! ❤️

I am over the moon about it! I created it a while back and totally forgot to share the excitement! Although I do need to fix the white background, but it's still super comfy, and it's got my first logo on it!

I wish every school knew that 5 days a week at school without appropriate support is a recipe for disaster for the whole classroom.

I hear of way too many school exclusions where parents are told their child's classroom had to be evacuated because of their unsafe behaviours...

But more often than not, this happened when the student didn't even have the supports their IEP says they're legally entitled to.

So often, the student was actually asking for support/help and was repeatedly ignored until they couldn't handle it anymore.

I think every adult has experienced at least one moment where they could not longer handle the pressure of expectations on them. If you think back to a moment like this for yourself... chances are you didn't have the support and accommodations you needed to meet the expectations. This situation probably didn't benefit anyone for very long so why would it be any different for students in the classroom?

5 days a week fits well with parent work schedules and the school routine but does the environment and supports in place fit so the learner can thrive too?
