SUPER SPUDS PLAYGROUP
LICENSED FAMILY CHILD CARE
*SPRING SESSION*
April 9th - June 27th 2024
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 8:30AM - 2:45PM
Super Spuds Playgroup is an early learning program for 3-5 year
olds provided in a licensed family child care setting with a maximum group of seven children each day. Throughout our day I offer a balance of indoor and outdoor free play along with group themed art, science, music and numeracy activities. I also teach the Fun Family Phonics program for pre-K’s depending on individual interest levels. Our spacious fenced outdoor play and learning environment is surrounded by open fields and mountains allowing for safe and endless motor skill development while enjoying the scenic Pemberton Valley. I believe in an emergent curriculum and follow the interests of children as they arise. My goal as an early learning teacher is to provide a safe, clean and spacious environment with a rich variety of play and
learning activities to encourage social, cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
A little about myself…
My name is Linda Walther and I have enjoyed providing child care to Pemberton
families for the past 24 years. I have training in Early Childhood and Special
Education and have worked in the school district as well as in my own family
childcare setting. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many
amazing Pemberton families over the years. I love being able to see the children
grow up and become young adults. Just one of the many benefits of living in this
small town:)
For more info or to be added to the waiting list for future availability you can
check out my Super Spuds Family Child Care page and send me a message.

Hello Pemberton Families!! I'm long overdue to update my Super Spuds Page! I hope everyone has managed to stay healthy and get through this challenging time! I'll give a brief overview of how our Super Spuds Family have navigated these changes. I made the decision to close last Spring for a few months in order to grasp the ever changing information and recommendations we were receiving. We re-opened last July as an outdoor only preschool from 8:30-1:30 which was amazing and seemed the best fit for the times. I have continued with this program ever since. It has been a huge success with the children thriving in this environment. I've loved how Super Spuds has evolved into this newly designed curriculum and have decided to continue with this in the future. I wanted to update everyone with my new child care offerings. I will be posting a program description shortly, but in the meantime I'm adding some random photos from our year in review! My goal is to keep this page more up to date in the future as I've never been a regular social media user...life long learning!

I have been sharing activities, ideas and stories with my daycare families that I would normally be doing this time of year as a way to stay connected and posted this on my larger community here! Here's the instructions in case anyone would like to try this project! We usually do this one on Earth Day using recycling:) See Below..
Happy Earth Day everyone!! This is an activity I do every year with the kids during planting season and using recycling.
“Self-Watering Planters”
1) Cut a two litre bottle about just over halfway up from the bottom.
2) Make a hole in the lid.
3) Use about 1 1/2 ft of string for the wick and tie a knot to make a loop at one end.
4) Feed the loop through the hole in the lid and screw the lid on
5) Place the top of the bottle upside down in the bottom half so that the string lays at the bottom.
6) Fill the top with soil and plant 3 seeds. I usually do peas or beans again for this because they’re quick to sprout:)
7) Fill the base with water so the lid is submerged. You need to water the seeds the first time to saturate the soil but after that it should suck the water through the wick to keep your plant watered.
Sounds like a lot of steps but totally worth it when the children are so impressed with their accomplishment!! Just add water to the base as needed.
