Hi everyone! Weโ€™re hoping our wonderful Pemberton community might be able to help us find a home for one of our new educators who will be joining our team at the Pemberton Childrenโ€™s Centre.

A little more information about our soon-to-be team member and their accommodation needs:

My name is Chogyal and I am originally from Nepal. My family and I have been living in Squamish for the past two years, and weโ€™ve really loved being part of the community here. In our free time, we enjoy hiking and being outdoors. We also have a 10-month-old baby, so we are looking for a comfortable and family-friendly place to call home.

As we prepare to make the move to Pemberton, weโ€™re looking for a comfortable, family-friendly 1 or (ideally) 2-bedroom home, within a 20 minute walk from the Childrenโ€™s Centre, where we can settle in and become part of the community.

Our budget is approximately:
๐Ÿ  1-bedroom: around $2,000/month
๐Ÿ  2-bedroom: up to $2,300/month

In May, we were thrilled to officially open the first of the new programs in our daycare expansion. This milestone has allowed us to continue supporting our current families while also welcoming many new families into our childcare community. We are continuing to recruit and onboard additional staff so that we can gradually increase enrollment in this first program and move toward full occupancy.

The opening of this expansion was made possible, in part, through the generosity of local businesses and organizations who believe in the importance of accessible, high-quality childcare. We would like to recognize the support of The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation and Lions Clubs International (Pemberton, BC) whose contributions helped make our new outdoor play spaces possible.

The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation generously donated $134,000, and the Lions Club contributed $2,000 toward the outdoor play structures in our new expansion.

On behalf of the Pemberton Child Care Society Board and the children, families, and staff at Pemberton Childrens Centre, we would like to sincerely thank the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation and the Lions Club for their generosity and continued support of our community. Weโ€™re reaching out to our Pemberton community in hopes of helping one of our educators find a long-term rental.

Theyโ€™re looking for a private, self-contained 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment, studio, or basement suite with natural light (not shared accommodation). Their budget is $1,500โ€“$1,750/month, and theyโ€™re hoping to find a place for at least one year. A location close to town would be great, but theyโ€™re open to other options.

๐ŸŒฟ Housing Needed for New Educators

We are excited to share that we are in the process of welcoming new staff members to both our community and our Centre as we continue working toward fully opening our new programming. As we grow, we are actively seeking additional qualified educators to join our team so that we can fully staff and open our new program spaces.

Supporting new educators as they transition into our community is an important part of building strong, consistent care for children and families.

As part of this, we are assisting one of our new educators, who will be relocating to Pemberton in early July to join our team. We are helping spread the word in hopes of finding accommodation for her and her husband as they make the move to our community. They are currently seeking a long-term rental and would greatly appreciate any leads or support from the community.
