Update on Grade 6 transition from Bill Woodward School to Anzac School

The Board of Trustees has received one appeal regarding the decision under Policy 13 – Appeals and Hearings Regarding Student Matters.

As a result, the planned Tuesday, October 13th transition is on hold. Grade 6 students will remain at Bill Woodward School while the appeal process takes place.

The Board will hear the appeal on Wednesday, November 18th. Northland School Division will provide families with an update on Friday, November 20th.

It is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of former Northland School Division staff member Beatrice Davidson. She passed away on September 26th following a battle with cancer.

Beatrice dedicated many years of service to Northland School Division. During her time with the division, Beatrice served as an Early Childhood Services (ECS) instructor and school community liaison.

Those who knew Beatrice will remember her kindness, generosity, laughter, smile and sense of humour. She will be deeply missed by those who had the opportunity to know and work alongside her.

A wake for Beatrice will be held on Wednesday, October 7th at 1:00 p.m. The funeral will take place on Thursday, October 8th at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at George D. Auger Hall in Wabasca.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Beatrice’s family, friends and all who knew her.

📢 Grade 6 students moving to Anzac School

Northland School Division Superintendent of Schools and CEO Murray Marran has shared an update with Anzac School and Bill Woodward School families.

After reviewing family feedback, a decision has been made to move the Grade 6 class from Bill Woodward School to Anzac School. The decision was made with the best interests of Grade 6 students in mind.

📅 The move will take effect on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, following the Thanksgiving break.

The 2026 Northland Games brought hundreds of Northland School Division student-athletes together at the Conklin Multiplex for a day of competition, traditional games and community spirit. 🏅

Students competed in running events, high jump, shot put and discus, along with traditional activities such as the walrus push, bone foot throw, dog sled relay, hoop toss and sash relay. 👏
