Northland School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Blessed-Sayah as Vice-Principal of Gift Lake School, effective 2026-2027 school year. Blessed-Sayah joined Northland School Division during the 2024-2025 school year and has taught Grade 1 at Gift Lake School for the past two years.

Before joining Northland, Blessed-Sayah taught Grades 1 and 2 in Nigeria. She also taught third-year Bachelor of Education students and postgraduate Honours students as a part-time lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.

"Beyond teaching, it has been a blessing for me to work alongside students, teachers, and community members over the past 2 years. I am honoured to work alongside Ms. Helen Akranis to keep building the lives of the students, and creating a culturally responsive teaching and learning environment where students have the opportunity to lead fulfilled lives."

“We are pleased to welcome Sarah into this leadership role at Gift Lake School,” said Superintendent of Schools/CEO Cal Johnson. “Her experience at the school and commitment to helping students thrive will support her as she begins this new leadership opportunity. Congratulations, Sarah!”
