With 16 candidates and 90 minutes at the Qualicum School District Trustee All-Candidate Forum, we wanted to cover as many topics as possible while giving every candidate equal time.

One way we did that was a rapid-fire Yes / No / Unsureround on key public education topics.

🚸 SCHOOL SAFETY — WHAT TO DO AFTER A NEAR MISS

Have you witnessed a near miss, unsafe driving incident, or other traffic safety concern around Oceanside Elementary?

📞 Please report it to the RCMP non-emergency line:
250-248-6111

Even if no one was hurt — or you don’t have the licence plate number — it’s still important to report what you saw.

Why? Because formally documenting these incidents helps build a clearer picture of what’s happening around our school and can help support improvements to keep our students, families and school community safer. 💙

If you see something unsafe, please report it.
Every report helps. 🦦

🧡 Today is Orange Shirt Day

Today, EOES will recognize Truth and Reconciliation with a school assembly.

If you're wearing orange today, you're joining communities across Canada in remembering the children who never returned home, honouring Survivors, and supporting the ongoing work of reconciliation.

Thank you for helping our kids learn, remember, and understand. 🧡
