🍁 Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day. At Notre Dame, we join communities across Canada to celebrate the vibrant cultures, unique languages, and rich histories of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. As a Catholic learning community centered in Christ, we recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing journey of learning, listening, and relationship-building. Walking the path of truth and healing calls us to listen deeply to Indigenous voices, look to the wisdom of Elders, and honour the sacred connection we share with the land and one another.💙💛 Today and every day, our Notre Dame family remains committed to building right relationships rooted in respect, humility, and solidarity.📚 Our students have been actively participating in this journey by diving into literature circles featuring First Nations, Inuit, and Métis authors, welcoming local knowledge keepers to share traditional stories and music, and participating in land-based learning activities that honor our connection to creation. We pray for open hearts as we continue to listen, learn, and grow together.

We recognize and honour every individual—including the influential male mentors in our community—who steps into a nurturing role, reflecting Christ’s unconditional love.We also hold a special place in our hearts and prayers today for the beloved fathers and father figures who have passed away, remembering their lasting legacy with deep gratitude. 🙏🕊️
