The first day of the season has arrived. As the school year winds down and summer plans begin, we hope you take time to relax, recharge, and enjoy the warm days ahead.

Today, June 21, is National Indigenous Peoples Day — a time to recognize and celebrate the rich histories, heritage, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

In , we honour the enduring contributions of Indigenous communities, including Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation. Held on the summer solstice, it marks an occasion of cultural significance for many Indigenous Peoples.

It may have rained but it didn't dampen the excitement and fun had during Keppel's grade 6 transition day at Hillcrest. The day was filled with tours, meet and greets, pizza and cooperative games. The new-to-Hillcrest students even picked up some swag in the form of Hillcrest t-shirts. We look forward to having the new students join us on September 8. Bluewater District School Board
