Congratulations to Adam Robaczewski, a doctoral candidate in Research and Intervention in Neuropsychology under the supervision of Prof. Nathalie Gosselin, on the publication of his article in the journal Behavioral Sciences, in the special Issue The Impact of Music on Individual and Social Well-Being. The article examines the various factors contributing to the perception of musical emotions among adolescents living with ADHD.

Félicitation à Catherine Des Rosiers, candidate au doctorat Recherche et Intervention en neuropsychologie, pour l’obtention d’une bourse d'études supérieures en recherche du Canada au niveau doctorat (BESRC-D) du Conseil de recherches en sciences humaines (CRSH).

Supervisée par Pre Simone Falk et Pre Isabelle Peretz, Catherine s'intéresse à étudier l'effet du chant en groupe sur la parole, sur la communication et sur le bien-être psychosocial des personnes qui bégaient.

Congratulations to Catherine Des Rosiers, a doctoral student in neuropsychology research and intervention, on receiving a Canada Graduate Research Scholarship (CGS-D) from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

Under the supervision of Professor Simone Falk and Professor Isabelle Peretz, Catherine is studying the effect of group singing on speech, communication, and the psychosocial well-being of people who stutter.

Au cours des dernières semaines, les membres du BRAMS Band ont généreusement partagé leur musique lors de plusieurs événements communautaires et de collecte de fonds, notamment à l’Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal (IUGM) le 31 mai 2026, ainsi qu’à la Résidence Alfredo-Gagliardi le 4 juin 2026.

L’événement du 4 juin, organisé en collaboration avec Minds in PSync, visait à amasser des fonds au profit de l’Association canadienne pour la santé mentale. Grâce à la musique, au partage et à l’engagement communautaire, le BRAMS Band a contribué à créer des moments rassembleurs tout en soutenant une cause importante.

Un grand merci aux musiciennes et musiciens, aux organisateurs et organisatrices, aux résidentes et à toutes les personnes qui ont rendu ces événements possibles. Nous sommes reconnaissants de voir la communauté BRAMS utiliser la musique pour rassembler les gens et soutenir la santé mentale.

🎶 Thank you to the BRAMS Band! 🎶

Over the past few weeks, members of the BRAMS Band have generously shared their music at several community and fundraising events, including performances at the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal (IUGM) on May 31, 2026, and at Résidence Alfredo-Gagliardi on June 4, 2026.

The June 4 event, organized in collaboration with Minds in PSync, helped raise funds in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association. Through music, connection, and community engagement, the BRAMS Band helped create meaningful moments while supporting an important cause.

A warm thank you to all the musicians, organizers, residents, attendees, and collaborators who made these events possible. We are grateful to see the BRAMS community using music to bring people together and support mental health.

Le 26 mai dernier, Zofia Holubowska, étudiante à l'Université de Leipzig en stage au BRAMS depuis janvier dans le laboratoire d'Isabelle Peretz, a présenté ses travaux de recherche aux membres étudiants et professeurs.

On May 26, Zofia Holubowska, a student at the University of Leipzig who has been interning at BRAMS since January in Isabelle Peretz’s lab, presented her research to students and faculty.

Du 6 au 8 mai dernier se tenait la conférence International Conference on Music & Sleep, présenté par le Center for Music in the Brain, Aarhus Universitet. Félicitations à tou.te.s les étudiant.e.s ayant présenté leurs travaux, et tout particulièrement à Sofia Simonetto-Rizk, supervisée par Pre. Emily B.J. Coffey et Pr. Robert J. Zatorre. Sofia a présenté ses travaux sur l'effet de la stimulation magnétique transcrânienne sur le plaisir musical et l'apprentissage.

The International Conference on Music & Sleep, organized by the Center for Music in the Brain at Aarhus Universitet, was held from May 6 to 8. Congratulations to all the students who presented their work, and especially to Sofia Simonetto-Rizk, under the supervision of Professor Emily B.J. Coffey and Professor Robert J. Zatorre. Sofia presented her research on the effect of transcranial magnetic stimulation on musical pleasure and learning.
