Today’s women’s volleyball photoshoot turned into a pretty incredible reminder of what makes this team special!

What stood out wasn’t just the talent - it was the way these women showed up for each other. So much encouragement, support, and genuine joy in the room today!! Along with some pretty killer singing 🤪🎵

You can see a strong team in a photo, but you can FEEL a strong community in the way they treat one other. So proud of these women for understanding that being great together starts with being there for each other 🫶

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, where individuals and organizations across Canada pause to remember the past and to look ahead to a future of restored relationships, partnership, and peace with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities. Offices at Providence are closed, and classes resume on campus tomorrow.

As we come to the close of our Truth and Reconciliation events, we’re reflecting with gratitude on the time we’ve shared together.

Over these days, we’ve shared meals around the table, worshipped God through song and dance, listened and learned from Indigenous perspectives, and gathered in prayer and reflection. Together, we’ve considered what it means not only to understand the truth, but to take an active part in the ongoing work of reconciliation.

But this isn’t where the journey ends.

We encourage our community to continue learning from Indigenous perspectives, listening to the stories and experiences of Indigenous peoples, and consider how each of us can move toward meaningful truth and reconciliation in our communities.

May what we’ve learned move beyond these events and shape how we listen, learn, live, and walk together.

Also, a big THANK YOU to for spending the week with us, sharing your stories, praying for us, and for inspiring others to worship through their cultural expression. 🧡

Day 2: Truth & Reconciliation week. Providence is honoured to have the group “Broken Walls” as our guests; they carry the message of Jesus Christ through Indigenous cultural expression.

It was a beautiful afternoon to learn, listen, worship, and enjoy a meal together! Everyone on campus was welcome to join in a meal of moose, goose, bannock, veggies & Labrador tea. The meal was followed by guest speakers in the Tee P*e.
