Kumon is a guided and monitored daily study program designed to assist students from preschool to high school in math and English language.
It can be used either as a remedial or enrichment program. It helps students cover all the basic concepts and seamlessly advance to high levels.
Placement testing is offered free of charge and helps establish a good starting point for each student.
Following the placement testing, parents are given an orientation session. It includes the program overview and a chance to discuss the test results.
Once the registration is complete, a study plan is designed for each student.
It is individual and based on your child's needs.
As Kumon is not a quick fix, an average student requires a minimum of 6 to 12 months to advance to a desired level.
Students come to the center or participate in online classes twice a week. Hybrid attendance is also practiced (one day at a center, one day via zoom).
Students spend thirty minutes daily on their Kumon assignments.
Parents are expected to enforce the worksheet completion at home for 5 days a week.
No teaching is required or even encouraged. All new concepts are explained by the instructor during class. Homework consists of exercises on covered concepts.
Pre-schoolers are given individual instruction in the program. Parents are expected to work with them at home for 30 minutes daily on the provided worksheets (instructional videos are available to help parents complete the work with their children).
Students time their worksheets and correct their mistakes to help them remember the material.
They take regular tests to determine their readiness for more advanced material.
The confidence and skills that they gain through Kumon study are solid and long lasting.
The goal of the Kumon program is to foster strong academic skills and independent learning.
The first step in Kumon journey is to schedule a free needs assessment/placement test and information session.
The sessions are conducted in person or via zoo
Placement testing is done by appointment only.
The current cost of the program is $140 per (calendar) month per subject.
A registration fee of $50 and a material fee of $30 is charged at the time of enrollment.
REGISTRATION IS FREE FOR STUDENTS STARTING IN FEBRUARY
