Hi everyone! I'm here with another video!
This video is from my portion of a private session on wellness and mindfulness, which I did alongside a mental health professional. The first 4 minutes are a very brief overview of yoga and mindfulness, followed by a gentle and low key 25 minute practice comprising a little mix of a few different aspects of yoga to illustrate the application of mindfulness practices.
You don't need any props for the practice, but if you have a mat, a bolster (or rolled up blanket) and two blocks (or equivalent cushions or chunky sweaters etc), they can come in handy.
Hope you enjoy the practice! As always, I welcome your feedback and/or suggestions, and I'll be back with a new video soon!
And importantly, thanks to everyone who pestered me to upload this the last few weeks - I sincerely appreciate the push in this time where the days and weeks blur together a bit.
(and yes, please do feel free to pester me to post another one sooner!)

Hi everyone :)
As promised, and at long last, here is my first video upload, an overview of options to help you sit cross-legged on the floor more comfortably. Please feel free to let me know what you think, if you have any suggestions for improvement, and/or if there's a video you'd like me to make in the future!
I hope you all continue to stay safe, healthy, careful and caring at this time.

Hi everyone,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I sincerely hope that you're all doing as well as can be given the circumstances.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's been a while since I've posted because I haven't had much to update. I took a step back when we all shut down so that my full-time teacher colleagues could have more space to reach their audience. But I've missed this part of my life where I can share yoga, and given how long this has been and promises to be, and the messages I've gotten from many of you, you feel the same.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Last time I posted was a story back in March saying that my tentative plan was to revive my old blog during social distancing (which I could never have fathomed would last this long). Since then, I've had many requests for videos, which echoed past requests of students who have left town over the years. So, I decided to shift gears (slowly, obviously haha) to provide that instead.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I came across this poem when reading to my nephew the other day and felt this was a sign to get on with posting. Because this message is so important in life as with yoga practice, and *especially* an online unsupervised pre-recorded class where I can't guide through my observations and the shared energy. Where that beautiful collective experience that is lasting in effect but fluid in its experience becomes static and permanent. A difficult shift when I've been so lucky in my opportunities to share until now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And yet, in this time that we cannot be physically close, it provides a way to reach you all nonetheless, and to try, at least, to share my yoga with you if that is what you need or want, when you need or want it. And its permanence is an advantage in this regard. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've decided to share videos through Instagram TV (IGTV), which is part of the existing platform and which can be viewed through facebook and other platforms. This means nothing new for any of us to follow or download.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, let's consider this post a first step in me *actually* pulling the trigger and posting a first video soon to test out the platform. (which I recorded weeks ago... Haha)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Please stay safe, well, positive, connected, and healthy. 🙏

A fun and powerful all levels workshop that explores growth through alignment, bio-mechanics and thoughtful sequencing..

MARCH UPDATE
My workshop at is coming up! March 15, from 1:30 - 3:30.
You can register here https://tinyurl.com/v49dvbb, and my previous post has a little more info (and even more below, read on!).
March also has lots of yin in store again! Mondays 5:45 pm – 7:15 pm, March 16 through April 13
And two regular temp Flow classes on Weds Mar 18 and 25, too!
All at PranaShanti Yoga in hintonburg (free parking too! 👐)
I'll keep you posted if anything else is added to the mix.
About my upcoming workshop
It is an "Invigorating Alignment Flow"
*Invigorating* because it'll be a strong practice
*Flow* because the sequence will be vinyasa-based (sun salutations)
*Alignment* because we will focus on alignment, which is harmonizing the biomechanics and physics of our bodies into the shapes and movements of yoga, so that we can strengthen our muscles in a way that supports our anatomy and physiology.
In the workshop we will explore how the hips (bones and joints) align and move in various postures and as we flow.
In understanding and noticing the real limitations our musculoskeletal systems have, we will learn how to use the shapes of yoga as a guide to open and re-align our bodies.
The combination of practice and explanations will provide understanding both from internal awareness and through gained knowledge, so that rather than forcing our bodies into shapes that may not be physiologically or safely accessible, we can harness the powerful realigning and balancing force of yoga to support and grow back into our bodies.
Registration is limited, so sign up soon!https://tinyurl.com/v49dvbb. Let me know if you have any questions! 🖐️

Hi everyone! Did you hear about my workshop coming up on March 15? At 😀
Get to know your hips! In a holistic "learn *while* your experience" strong flow practice!
We'll zoom into all practical aspects of hip alignment and movement, including what hip openers are, to what does "square hips" even mean? There might be more to it than you think! (and it might be simpler than you think to integrate it into your practice 🙃)
My goal is for you to be confident in your postures in *every* yoga class, at least when it comes to the hips 😉. All while getting a full mindful practice in for the day.
Oh, and did I mention, there will be an extended singing bowl session (in a *restorative* savasana) at the end?!? bliss...
I simply cannot wait! Sign up now at https://tinyurl.com/v49dvbb to secure your spot - limited space! .
Keep an eye on my stories for more info to come!!
Also, if you've made it this far : I'm teaching a drop in flow class on Sunday March 1, at 1pm, also at PranaShanti. Would love to see you there too!
Thank you to .it for the phenomenal photo.

Happy new year everyone!
I thought my first post of the year would just be my January schedule (also below), but was surprised today when I was told that I've been nominated for Ottawa's Yoga Instructor of the Year FACES Award *again*!
Thank you to whoever thought to nominate me! I'm just happy to share my love of yoga and a taste of what yoga has given me to others. It's a privilege for me to even have a platform to teach, and to be recognized in any way beyond a thank you at the end of class is more than I could ever expect. And then, for it to happen more than once is a real honour. 🙏 🙏
If you want to vote, you can at https://facesmag.ca/awards. But honestly, being one of a small bunch of nominees in our yoga-filled city is more than I could ask for ☺ (although I would genuinely be happy to know who nominated me! 😉)
Now, MOST importantly, my teaching schedule for the rest of the month:
YIN :
Tues, Jan 7 - 7:30-9pm (warm)
Fri, Jan 10 - 6:00-7:15pm
FLOW:
Sat, Jan 11 - 1:00-2:15 pm
Fri, Jan 24 - 6:00-7:15 pm (warm, slow)
Fri, Jan 31 - 6:00-7:15 pm (warm, slow)
All at
Thank you to .it for the amazing photo.
Hope to see you on the mat soon!!
