Been Roll’n?

Body feeling “stuck” from movement patterns, or lack of movement?

Our fascia is densely woven connective tissue that interconnects almost everything in our body. It changes and adapts to the demand we put on it (for better or worse) over time.
We often become so used to how it feels we don’t recognize it as being tight or restricted.

Farewell Summer ~ Hello Fall 🍂

I love Fall. I love the changes of season. I love the crisp air. I love apples. I love pumpkin. I love hot bev’s. I love sweaters. I love boots. I love the feeling of newness. I love the shedding of old.

🍁In TCM the transition reminds us of the significance of letting go, letting go, letting go…AND, to use our internal wisdom to choose wisely where we are spending our TIME and ENERGY. Does it tap into our feelings of self worth?

🍁The Fall is associated with the Metal Element. Strong, but flexible for balance. Not too rigid, not too brittle.
Clear and direct but soft within the boundaries.

🍁Organs that align with the Metal Element are the lungs and large intestine. Taking in and letting go.
Let go of what you don’t need and value in what you have.

🍁The meridians channels for these organs travel along the arms, chest and throat.

🍁To stimulate with yoga poses try chest openers, camel or any poses clasping hands behind the back. Any respiratory focus within the poses.

🍁 Step outside and take deep nourishing breaths of the crisp, Fall air. Fill your lungs, and let it go.

Questions to consider:

1. Do I feel valued?
2. Have I added value to another’s life or to the world?
3. Am I able to let go when necessary?
4. Am I organized and keep commitments?
5. Do I allow myself to fully grieve and experience sadness?
6. Am I active with respiratory and immune systems?
7. Am I able to grasp my own self worth?

M o n d a y

This Monday feels different from last week.

I felt like I was suffocating with so many tough decisions to be made..
However I know better than to let it go that far. Get back to basics. The tools in my tool box.



I am so grateful for my family - friends - community who are T h e r e .. always!!



I am so grateful for the past few years in Vienna, Austria. I will forever l o v e you!



I am so grateful for everyone of y o u who paused and took the time to welcome me back to Ottawa. I’m coming back home.

I am so grateful I got to be a Godparent to a sweet boy named Eli yesterday. Honoured!

STILLNESS. The absence of movement. Is it the most challenging state of your being?

To be witness to our thoughts and emotions. They are after all the fabric of who we are and everything we do is an expression of them.
80,000 thoughts a day that dictate how we move and the quality of our day. We quickly notice their velocity when we come into stillness. Perhaps that’s why the challenge. Like sitting in the eye of a hurricane. We can’t stop the hurricane speed of the world around us, but we can manipulate our perception to it by finding moments of stillness in our day.

It doesn’t necessarily mean getting into a meditative seat. There’s many opportunities throughout the day to briefly pause and notice where your internal GPS has you heading. Pause long enough to notice if you’re heading in a direction that’s meaningful and matters. Take a deep breath, then carry on without judgement.

As our world starts to re-open and we step back into the busyness of it all. A gentle reminder 💕

Just a tool in your toolbox of life - balance.

Our body like our brain loves variety.
Helps train our bodies to be adaptable, increase strength, decrease the risk of injury and helps identify imbalances are a few reasons to practice moving our body’s in a variety of ways.

•slow speed resistance
•endurance

A helpful approach to notice how life’s patterns and experiences show up in the function or malfunction of our body.

L i f e. It’s hard.
But Yoga Helps.

There’s probably not one person in the world that hasn’t found living hard over the past year.
Everyone has their own story ..
We have no right to judge it.
We’re all trying.

We have to keep finding ways to shred some of the hardness.
Does it have to be yoga? Of course not. But find something that soothes you from the inside out.

One of my favourite things about the practice is there can be so many modalities under its umbrella.
Some days I need softness and stillness.
Some days I need sweating and screaming.
Some days I need something that falls in between.

It sure is comforting to know that what I need tomorrow I can find within the practice.

Keep showing up for yourself.
Keep trying.
