The Peer Mentoring Program helps newly admitted students to make the jump from high school or college to university. The Program is designed to help in this transition and provide new first year students with someone to interact with, learn from, and seek guidance, to adjust to university life. The Mentors are senior student who have not only “been there” and “learned the ropes,” but have also exc

elled academically and outside of the classroom. The overall goal is to maximize the new students’ university experience. Our Peer Mentoring Program is specially designed for you – new Telfer students - to ensure you have a fulfilling and successful experience here. As a mentee, you will be matched with a student who has already completed their first year and wants to share their experiences, insider tips and help you make lasting relationships to ease your transition to university life. Le Programme de mentorat par les pairs aide les étudiants de première année à faire la transition entre l'école secondaire ou le collège et l'université. Le programme est conçu pour faciliter cette transition en jumelant une personne de première année avec une autre personne qui se fera un plaisir de lui parler et d'être à son écoute ainsi que de lui donner des conseils, de contribuer à son apprentissage et de faciliter son adaptation à la vie universitaire. Un mentor est un étudiant de de troisième ou quatrième année qui non seulement est « passé par là » et « sait comment ça se passe », mais qui excelle à la fois dans ses études et en dehors des salles de classe. L'objectif global du programme est de faire en sorte que l'étudiant en première année tire le plus grand profit possible de son expérience universitaire. Notre Programme de mentorat par les pairs est spécialement conçu pour vous - les nouveaux étudiants de Telfer - afin de s’assurer que vous vivez une expérience enrichissante et fructueuse à l'École de gestion. Comme personne mentorée, vous serez jumelé avec un étudiant qui a terminé sa première année d’études et qui veut vous accompagner tout au long de la vôtre. Parce que votre mentor a déjà été dans vos souliers, celui-ci saura vous aider à découvrir des astuces pour faciliter votre transition et vous aidera à tisser des liens durables avec des gens de la communauté universitaire.
