We excited to be working with Jeremy and Akash as we move the BuildShare’s first modular development project from planning toward ex*****on.

We met at Jeremy’s recently completed eight-unit building near Bank and Heron to study the finished project, discuss lessons learned, and apply that experience to our own development.

During BuildShare’s visit to Fab Structures, we asked how they work with the architect during the early design stages.

Fab explained that they typically get involved before permit, working back and forth with the architect as the design develops and the other consultants do their work.

For us, this was an important takeaway. If you’re considering prefab, it’s not something you decide once the drawings are finished. The manufacturer needs to be part of the conversation early enough that the building can actually be designed around the system you plan to use.
