Renowned author of “The Fault in our Stars”, John Green, gives his rendition on the rise of health care in the West-African country of Sierra Leone.

Green discusses the improvements made to the country’s only Psychiatric Hospital, as well as the steps taken towards reducing the number of maternal deaths/year. Partners in Health Canada began supporting this vast country in 2014, where the hospital was found in inadequate conditions with no running water, no Emergency Unit, etc. Today, PIHC has technologically enhanced the hospital to reflect the needs of the citizens. However, with a population of 500,000, the hospital rests at only 48 maternal beds.

Join PIHC and John Green in funding the development of Sierra Leone’s Hospital and continue to stay updated by reading/watching annual reports provided by us.
