We use the word “grounded” a lot. But what does it actually feel like?
For us, being grounded isn't about being calm all the time.
It's noticing when we're becoming overwhelmed, distracted or reactive. It's giving ourselves a moment before responding and becoming aware of what we're bringing into a situation.
Horses give us plenty of opportunities to notice those moments. 🐴
If we're distracted or rushing ahead, sometimes the first thing we need to change isn't what we're asking of the horse.
It's how we're showing up.
That awareness can follow us beyond the arena. Into our conversations, relationships and those everyday moments when things don't quite go as planned.
Being grounded doesn't mean always getting it right. Sometimes it's simply noticing where we are, taking a moment, and choosing how we want to move forward.
