Registration Now Open – CSJS 2026 Annual Conference

The Canadian Society for Jewish Studies (CSJS) invites local academics, students and members of the public to attend the 2026 Annual Conference at Carleton University, hosted by the Max and Tessie Zelikovitz Centre, in Ottawa.

The conference will include academic panels, lectures, and a special evening performance (The Nightingale of Iran on May 27). Kosher meals are included with registration.

This registration is only for those who have not already registered through the CSJS. (It is intended for local guests.)

Registration Options
Full Conference – $200*
Includes access to all sessions, kosher meals throughout the conference, and admission to the concert.

Single Day – $75 per day*
Includes access to sessions and kosher meals for the selected day.

Payment may be made by e-transfer to [email protected] (please include your name and “CSJS 2026 Registration” in the message), or in cash or by cheque at the door.

The Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies at Carleton University is delighted to announce that Galeet Dardashti will be performing the Nightingale of Iran on May 27, 2026 at the Soloway JCC as an evening performance for the upcoming Canadian Society for Jewish Studies conference (https://csjs.ca ) at Carleton May 26-28.

The Nightingale of Iran is a hit audio documentary created by sisters Danielle Dardashti and Galeet Dardashti, telling the story of their famous Persian Jewish family. Danielle is the host, writer, and director. Galeet is the musical director, producer, and subject matter expert. In this live multi-media presentation, Danielle and Galeet share behind-the-scenes stories, songs, and clips from their critically acclaimed series.

The public is warmly welcomed to the performance and the conference.

Professor Deidre Butler is in Warsaw where she is filming footage for the Hear Our Voices Holocaust history project. In this clip, local scholar Elżbieta Janicka, explains how the memory of Polish complicity during the Holocaust is being erased by attributing some Polish massacres of the Jews to the N***s. By “remembering” the Jewish massacre at Jedwabne at Treblinka, Polish guilt is erased.
