New birthday party options coming soon!

You asked- What is a freestyle Brick Birthday Party?
It is one pile of bricks and infinite possibilities.

Swipe to see what happens when you step back and let children lead the way!

The incredible mazes you see here were designed and built entirely by children right here at STEMquest.

Open-ended block play with LEGO® is so much more than just fun—it is a powerful workout for growing minds. When children build without a manual, they are actively developing:

Spatial Awareness & Geometry: Mapping out paths, estimating distances, and understanding scale.

Critical Thinking: Figuring out what happens when a path hits a dead end and how to re-route it.

Engineering Principles: Testing structural stability so those maze walls don't topple over.

Resilience: Trying, failing, and rebuilding until the design works perfectly.

By framing STEM as an attitude of exploration, we give kids the freedom to become true creators, thinkers, and problem solvers.

What kind of maze would your child build? Book a Brick Birthday Party to find out!

Take a look at these lanyards — chances are, you've used one! Every time you signed your child in or out, you were holding a little piece of A's hard work. Last year around this time, 'A' was at camp and quietly took on a project: making the pen lanyards for our sign-in boards. Simple, functional, and made with care.

This year, 'A' is back — not as a camper, but as a volunteer, helping us set up for the 2026/2027 academic year. And 'A' helped us not stop at "good enough."
'A' made brand new, beautifully colour-coded lanyards to replace the old ones — an upgrade nobody asked for; it was just an idea spoken out loud, a thought, a wishful want. Now that it is a reality, everybody will appreciate it!

Here's the thing about making lanyard strings: it looks small, but it's not. It takes focus. It takes patience. It takes the willingness to start over when a knot goes wrong. And it takes noticing a small problem — "these pens keep going missing" — and just... solving it.

That's the STEM attitude in a nutshell. STEM isn't only a curriculum you follow at school or at a club— it's a mindset. It's looking at the world and asking "how can I build, fix, or improve this?" And sometimes, that mindset shows up not in a robotics competition or a science fair, but in a box of colourful string turned into something the whole community uses every single day.

A few things a project like this quietly builds:
Fine motor skills & focus — repetitive, intentional work that trains patience
Creativity & design thinking — colour-coding isn't decoration, it's problem-solving
Sense of contribution — seeing your work used by real people, every day
Initiative — 'A' saw a way to help, and she did it!
Community belonging — this is what being part of the STEMquest family looks like

STEM builds more than skills — it builds people who notice problems and quietly go fix them. That's exactly what 'A' has done, two years running.

Thank you, 'A' , for volunteering, for building, and for being such a meaningful part of the STEMquest community. We see you, we appreciate you, and we can't wait to see what you create next.

Building with Straws —
Turning simple straws into big ideas! From creative structures to imaginative robot suits, our young builders are developing problem-solving, spatial thinking, fine-motor skills, and the confidence to turn their imagination into something they can see, touch, and share.

STEM is not a curriculum, it is an attitude!
