A reminder that Science Literacy Week returns October 4–11, 2026 with this year’s theme: Curiosity Unleashed.

Leading into the week, CASC is relaunching the Science Connection Community of Practice (CoP) on June 4, 2026. Through monthly sessions from June to October, the CoP will create space for science, health, education, STEM outreach, research, and community organizations to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen science engagement.

Pour rappel, la Semaine de la culture scientifique revient du 4 au 11 octobre 2026, avec pour thème cette année : « La curiosité en éveil. ».

En amont de cette semaine, l’ACCS relance la communauté de pratique (CoP) Science Connection le 4 juin 2026. Our final gathering takes place on Friday, June 19 at both 9 am ET and 9 AM PT where we will have a meaningful discussion about where we need to go from here.

We will be joined by Carrianne Agawa, who will scribe our conversation and create a piece of art that illustrates our discussion and commitment to Truth and Reconciliation going forward.

Bold investments in science engagement strengthen communities, inspire future innovators, and reinforce the vital role of science centres across Canada. This is wonderful news for the science centre community and for the countless families, students, and educators you serve. We’re excited to see this vision come to life and to support you in this next chapter.

CASC is thrilled to announce the launch of the Niigani Miinigowiziiwin (We Give These Gifts to the Future) Accelerator Program. This transformative, collective learning journey is created to help CASC members strengthen relationships with local Indigenous communities, and to weave Indigenous wisdom into their operations, outreach and education initiatives.

This first-of-its-kind program is designed and facilitated by world-renowned Indigenous Systems Scholar Dr. Melanie Goodchild, Vice President of Indigenous Knowledge, Scholarship and Research, and Senior Fellow of the Indigenous Knowledge Systems Lab at Shingwauk Kinoomaage Gamig, in partnership with the globally-recognized Presencing Institute and systems change leaders at Wolf Willow Institute.

L'ACCS est ravie d'annoncer le lancement du Programme d'accélération Niigani Miinigowiziiwan (Nous offrons ces cadeaux à l'avenir). Ce parcours d'apprentissage collectif et transformateur a été conçu pour aider les membres de l'ACCS à renforcer leurs relations avec les communautés autochtones locales et à intégrer la sagesse autochtone dans leurs activités, leurs initiatives de sensibilisation et leurs programmes éducatifs.

Ce programme unique en son genre a été conçu et est animé par Dre Melanie Goodchild, spécialiste de renommée mondiale des systèmes autochtones, vice-présidente chargée des connaissances, des bourses d'études et de la recherche autochtones, et chercheuse principale du Indigenous Knowledge Systems Lab à Shingwauk Kinoomaage Gamig, en partenariat avec le Presencing Institute, reconnu mondialement, et les leaders du changement systémique du Wolf Willow Institute.
