Carleton University (Official)
Carleton’s proximity to government institutions, libraries, media and a thriving knowledge economy make Carleton a great place to learn and live.
From its very beginnings, Carleton University has welcomed the world, explored it in many fields of study and embraced the obligations of national and international citizenship.

This National Indigenous History Month, Carleton University celebrates the vital voices, rich cultures, and diverse experiences of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people who inspire positive change worldwide.
As a campus situated on the traditional, unceded territories of the Algonquin nation, we acknowledge our responsibility to the Algonquin people and our commitment to purposeful change.
We have made meaningful strides in integrating Indigenous history and ways of knowing into campus life, but we recognize there is still much work to be done.
Let’s commit to learning, listening, and growing together—this month and every day after.

In medical research, "one-size-fits-all" is rarely the answer. This is especially true when dealing with rare, genetic conditions like Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), where even the slightest friction can cause blisters and open wounds.
For years, clinical care for EB has been limited to managing wounds after they occur using generic dressings. But current materials create rigid stress points where fragile tissue easily breaks down.
Carleton researchers Andrew Harris, Eng Kuan Moo and Irina Garces are working to develop a more targeted solution.
Drawing on expertise in cellular engineering, tissue mechanics and biomaterials manufacturing, the team is designing personalized skin grafts that match each patient’s skin for targeted, long-term treatment.
Read how this work is paving a more personalized path forward for EB care and complex wound management: https://carleton.ca/news/story/epidermolysis-bullosa-treatment-research/
