The Italian Canadian Youth Formation Centre was founded in 1974 by Enrico del Castello, with the purpose of fostering Italian language and culture in Ottawa.

- Students (JK to Grade 12 )have the opportunity to learn the Italian language and culture for free Saturday mornings.
-High School credit course
-Adult program for begginers and intermediate levels also available. The Centre began primarily as a Saturday morning school program focusing mainly on the teaching of language and culture at the elementary level. In time, it began to offer adult course

Today, as the Italian flag is raised at City Hall to officially kick off 2026, we honour our heritage, deep roots, and the many contributions of the Italian-Canadian community to the National Capital Region 🇮🇹 🇨🇦 Thank you to Mayor and the Ambassador of Italy to Canada, H.E. Alessandro Cattaneo.

Special mention to the wonderful volunteers who work hard to give the community many Italian Week events to celebrate our heritage with pride.

Viva l’Italia! 💚 🤍 ❤️

🇨🇦🇮🇹 The President and Vice-President of the Centro Giovanile were honoured to attend the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Italy hosted by the Canada–Italy Interparliamentary Group in Ottawa.

This group of Canadian senators and Members of Parliament work to strengthen the relationship between Canada and Italy, and recognize the contributions of the Italian Canadian community. 💚 It was a beautiful evening.

For over 50 years, our school has remained dedicated to teaching the Italian language while fostering an appreciation for Italian culture, heritage, and traditions in the next generation. ❤️

We are fortunate to welcome to Canada on June 28 in Montreal a musical team coming directly from Italy, who will present the musical Per Terre Lontane.

Originally featured on TV2000, the production tells the story and life of Saint John Baptist Scalabrini, founder of the Scalabrinian order, who dedicated his life to supporting and serving immigrants. Performed by 15 talented Italian actors, this meaningful production is designed to be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.

Highlights of our day trip to see them in Montreal:

From new vocabulary to lots of excitement, these little learners had SO much fun experimenting, exploring, and discovering together 🤩
