Sapientia is a forum for students to discuss current affairs, national and global politics and idea
Sapientia comes from the term "Sapientia per sermo" (wisdom through discussion). Sapientia is a forum for students to discuss current affairs, national and global politics and ideas for positive change in an open, objective and encouraging environment. While other clubs on campus have a particular, narrow partisan or ideological focus, Sapientia fosters discourse across the political spectrum for a receptive, friendly and thought-provoking discussion. ยท
Hey everyone!
I just want to make everyone aware that this upcoming winter/spring Sapientia will be holding an election for all executive positions. We traditionally have 7 exec positions and all of them need to be filled so we'd be happy to see any interest so the forum can keep running in the future. Feel free to contact Michael or myself if you're interested.
I'll keep the group updated once we get closer to the club election.
The next Sapientia discussion will be held this Saturday, November 22th between 6 and 9pm in the clubs room off of the Jock Turcott couch lounge.
The next Sapientia discussion will be held this Saturday, November 8th between 6 and 9pm in the clubs room off of the Jock Turcott couch lounge. All are welcome!

Sapientia Meetings Date & Time Fall 2012 - Doodle: easy scheduling We want to plan our discussion meetings on the weekday and time that best suits you. When are you available to take part in open, non-judgemental, nonpartisan discussions about Canada, foreign affairs, economics, science and technology, and anything else you're interested in?
Hello everyone!
As our second-last event of the year, Sapientia is breaking down barriers by holding our first ever "Sapientian NewsNight". Share what you know, or have read in an article, about an issue that is "under-known" or important to you. It can be from anywhere in the world. There's no pressure to speak - just come on out and learn about some meaningful news!
We are meeting at 7:30pm in UCU 301 on April 11th. We will also be deciding our logo, with a prize for whoever's logo is chosen.
On April 21st Sapientia is also holding a social event. Matt is breaking in his porch by holding an end-of-the-year Sapientia social event. Bring ten bucks and get all the food and drinks you want and the chance to engage in some intriguing discussion. The event will raise funds for Sapientia events next term. Let's end this year right with our best discussion yet!
I hope to see everyone, but if I don't I wish you the best of luck on your exams! :)
Matthew
To clarify, this week Sapientia held a meeting on Monday night to watch "Dr. Strangelove", instead of Wednesday. Our last meeting will be next Wednesday night at 7:30pm in UCU 301.
Unfortunately I've spent the entire day locked in the library working on a group assignment and forgot to grab the clubs key- so I booked the AGORA for tonight instead. So we get to try something new tonight. I will see everyone in the AGORA at 7:30pm!
Meeting tomorrow night (March 28) at 7:30pm in UCU 301. Come out to enjoy some hearty discussion- which will include the question: "how should the state deal with prostitution?".
