This class is for students who have a minimum of 6 years of ballet training. Knowledge of the full vocabulary of adagio, pirouettes, petit allegro, and grande allegro is essential for this class.

The Dancer's Notebook...
Teaching is not a performance of expertise.

A teacher does not need to be the most impressive person in the room. Our knowledge matters only when we can use it to help someone else learn.

Sometimes that means demonstrating. Sometimes correcting. Sometimes asking the right question. And sometimes it means being quiet long enough to really observe the person in front of us.

Great teaching is not about showing students how much we know.

It is about discovering what they need from us in order to learn.
