Sabina has been the Director of Westboro Village Cooperative Preschool since 2018. For almost eight years, she has led our centre with steadiness, heart, and a deep commitment to children and families.

In October 2025, Sabina was awarded the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education, Certificate of Achievement. This national recognition reflects the care, intention, and leadership she brings to our community every single day.

Sabina believes that before children can learn academically, they need to feel safe, confident, and emotionally supported. That belief guides every decision she makes. It shapes the way our educators approach their work, the way our classrooms feel, and the way families are welcomed into our space.

Under her leadership, WVCP has grown into a nurturing, inclusive, and joyful community where children are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and celebrate who they are. She is deeply committed to purposeful play, reflective practice, and creating an environment where every child feels seen and valued.

Sabina is also a strong believer in meaningful family partnerships. She works closely with parents and educators to foster open communication, trust, and collaboration, knowing that children benefit most when the adults in their lives are connected and aligned.

Her dedication, empathy, and clear vision continue to shape WVCP into a place where children do not just attend, but truly belong. 💛

Meet our beloved Bushra💛
Bushra holds a degree in Psychology and Education from Damascus University and is certified through Montessori and Albert School programs 📚

With over 8 years of experience working with young children, including working with with children with diverse needs and abilities, she brings kindness, patience, and expertise to our preschool family🫂🤗

Her passion is to create a safe, joyful, and stimulating environment where children can explore, learn, and develop their cognitive, physical, and emotional skills every day 💛

Say hello to Sarah, our dedicated Assistant Director 🌿 A passionate RECE, she brings her heart, expertise, and leadership to WVCP every day. 💛

Her mission? Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive space where every child can learn, grow, and explore their unique potential. 🧩✨

From hands-on play to bringing nature into the classroom 🍃, Sarah inspires curiosity every day.

Meet Vanessa, a beloved part of our preschool community since 2007 💛

Vanessa first joined WVCP as a parent, enrolling all three of her children in our programs. After her youngest graduated in 2014, she began supply teaching , and we’ve been lucky to have her ever since 🌱

With a background as both a geologist and a professional cook (including teaching cooking to kids 🍳), Vanessa brings creativity, curiosity, and fun to every day in the classroom. She loves finding the perfect balance between silliness and skill-building , from life skills and social-emotional growth to physical literacy and academics.

For Vanessa, a successful day means happy, confident children who respect each other, take responsibility, and learn something new 🧸📚✨

Meet Taylor, one of our amazing educators at WVCP 💛

Inspired by her own early school experiences, Taylor knew she wanted to make a difference in children’s lives. As an RECE and Algonquin College graduate, she believes every child is unique — and that we should teach them in the way they learn.

Her classrooms are welcoming, supportive spaces where children can explore, express, and lead.
For Taylor, the best learning happens when educators, the environment, and the children all teach together 🌱.

Here's how it works!

Order Deadline: Monday, June 16 at 2 PM ⏰

Pick-up & Delivery Options:

• Pick up any day at your convenience at 102 Fairmont Avenue - select "store pickup" at checkout. (Check Merry Dairy hours here (https://shop.themerrydairy.com/pages/hours))

• Free home delivery within Ottawa for orders over $50 - available Wed-Sat, 3-7 PM. Choose "delivery" at checkout. 🚚

• Special freezer van pick-up at WVCP (470 Roosevelt Ave.) on Tuesday, June 17 from 2:45 to 3:45 PM ❄️

Fundraiser Support:

• $2 from every ice cream pint sold supports WVCP!

• $4 from each recipe book sold supports WVCP 📚

• You can add a donation of $5, $10, $25, or $50 to your order - 100% goes directly to WVCP!

Product Info:

• Choose from a variety of dairy and vegan (non-dairy) flavours!

• All products are peanut, tree nut, and sesame-free, with gluten-free and soy-free options available.
