📌 CIP and OUQ hosted , Canada’s premier national planning conference, in Montreal from July 7-9, 2026.
The conference would not have been a success without the support of our student volunteers and our student volunteer partner, the City of Calgary.
In this Q&A, Mireta Strandberg-Salmon shares highlights from the conference, lessons learned, and advice for fellow planning students.

📌 L’ICU et l’OUQ ont organisé FUSION 2026, le plus important congrès national sur l’urbanisme au Canada, à Montréal du 7 au 9 juillet 2026.
Le congrès n’aurait pas été un succès sans le soutien de nos étudiants bénévoles et de notre partenaire en matière de bénévolat étudiant, la Ville de Calgary.
Dans cet entretien, Mireta Strandberg-Salmon revient sur les temps forts du congrès, les enseignements tirés et les conseils qu'elle adresse aux autres étudiants en urbanisme.
« Je me suis sentie accueillie et valorisée dans les discussions auxquelles j’ai pris part aux côtés d’urbanistes plus expérimentés. Le congrès m’a donné l’impression que le monde de l’urbanisme était à la fois vaste et intime, et j’ai hâte de renouer bientôt avec les participants de FUSION. »
