PennyDrops at Carleton

Hey everyone, we hope the first couple weeks of the term are going well for everybody and we’re excited to open up our hiring for this semester!

PennyDrops is a great club where we teach short seminars through the semester on important financial skills for students like us! It is a very rewarding club and yields great experiences whether in teaching, presenting, and expanding your comfort-zone. As well, PennyDrops is a low time commitment club because we try to make it easy for our members to balance our studies and extracurriculars!

Luckily, PennyDrops has compiled a few tips to help save money!
1. Textbooks can be very costly. To save money try to buy them second hand off of a good friend, Facebook groups, local bookstores, or online services such as bookbinder.com or Chegg. Chegg enables students to rent a textbook or purchase a digital copy for the semester at a low price.
2. Connect with friends and do a school supply exchange! Swap out any supplies that you no longer use for a bundle of their old supplies. This tip can help save money while also saving the planet.
3. Take advantage of campus services. Carleton students have access to a gym, so you don't need to also pay for an outside gym.

This workshop is only about 45 minutes long and you’ll learn a bunch of ways to more effectively use your money.
