So happy to have An Nguyen join us as an Artist in Residence!

🎉 Big news from Elgin Street Public School!

As part of Ottawa’s bicentennial celebrations, local artist An Nguyen - Artist has been awarded an Ottawa 200 Grant to serve as the school’s Artist in Residence!

Through the upcoming Garden Box Project, An Nguyen will work directly with students to design and transform garden boxes into vibrant public art. Guided by the Bytown 200 – Celebrate Together theme, this hands-on initiative brings together art, storytelling, environmental stewardship, and student voices to reflect on Ottawa’s past, present, and future. 🎨🌱

Thank you to the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa 200 program for making this creative learning journey possible! Special thanks to An Nguyen for leading this project.

The talented Nicole Bonilla joined us at Elgin today and provided us such a treat with a live painting 🖼️ over 7 hours she painted this incredible work of art, and included the hand prints of some of our students 💜 bid on her art (lot 98) and take this piece home!
