Shawne Elizabeth has sung in Canada, the United States and Europe. As resident Soprano with fusion opera company Ooh Lah Lah Opera, Shawne created roles for four topical shows and three children's operas. She soloed with Opera Lyra Ottawa, Ottawa Pocket Opera, Opera in Piazza, Ottawa Savoy Society, Opera Breva, Theatre Lyrique de Hull, Brahms Choir, Carleton University Choir and Blackburn Chorus.
Shawne specializes in light coloratura repertoire both French and Viennese, interpreting French and German Art Song with sensitivity. She has starred in over a dozen operettas by Offenbach, Sullivan, Lehar, J. Strauss, and LeCoq. Sacred performances include standard works such as Schubert Mass in G, Vivaldi Gloria, Haydn's Harmony Mass and The Creation, Handel's Messiah, Mozart Mass in C, and the Rutter Requiem. She recently added the Fauré Requiem and the Rutter Magnificat to her credits, performing with the Choeur Classique de l'Outaouais and the Carleton University Choir. Shawne has appeared with the National Art Centre Orchestra, The Gatineau Symphony, The Virtuosi Orchestra, The Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic, The Karlovy Vary Orchestra, Thirteen Strings and the Ottawa Chamber Orchestra. She conducts vocal workshops for choirs and camps, teaches voice at Carleton University and has a private studio in her home.
