Enter the Algonquin Reads selfie contest!

Take a selfie with the Algonquin Reads book for this year (Malcolm Gladwell's David and Goliath) and post to Twitter or Instagram. See details below:

The first random draw for a $10 Starbucks gift card will be October 31st; a second draw for a $10 campus connections card will be Nov. 30th . Draw for most creative selfie of the fall term for a $10 Starbucks gift card with mug will be Dec. 5th.

All entries must be submitted by 11:59 pm EST the last day of each month to qualify for our prize of that month. The winner will be announced on the first of the month, we appreciate your patience while we verify all the entries. Good luck! Looking for a great read for the Holidays? Want to win $75? Start by reading the book Mãn, by Kim Thuy (only 139 pages!). Thuy depicts her heroine’s life in delicate, illuminating vignettes that follow her from Vietnam through her journey as she immigrates to Montreal and establishes a life for herself, cooking in her husband’s restaurant, teaching cooking classes, publishing a cookbook, and falling in love. Once you have read the book, write a book review that includes some of your personal reflections and submit it to the Algonquin Reads writing contest by January 15. Don’t feel like writing a book review? There will be prizes for creative pieces and critical essays too! Not only can you win $75, you can have your work published in the Algonquin Times and on the Algonquin Reads blog.
