Algonquin College Interior Decorating Program

I would like to announce that Michele is retiring at the end of his annual leave/vacation period, August 28th.

Michele has contributed to the success of many graduates in the Interior Design and Interior Decorating programs. We will be sad to see him leave but know that this is the best decision for him as the program starts to teach out the remaining students.

I hope Michele enjoys lots of time for travel, cycling, golf and maybe starting a band. All the possibilities!

What an honor to have worked with such a dedicated, hardest marker, passionate and professional, colleague. I would give his impact on the Interior Decorating program an A+.

Kingston Paint is looking for a dynamic individual for our window treatments department.

If you have a love of interior design and decorating and have knowledge of window treatments, blinds, drapery and shutters, we have an opportunity for you! Familiarity with Hunter Douglas, Graber, Sol-R would be an asset.

You must be detail oriented, have excellent written and oral communication skills. You must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to attend in-home consultations.

Wage is hourly (rate dependent on experience) plus commission on sales and mileage. Currently (but could increase) three weekdays (9-5) plus every other Saturday (9-4).

You will be responsible for all aspects of the sale; Initial consultation, in-home consultation and measurements, product knowledge and selection, quotations, order entry on manufacturers portals, communication with our seamstress and installer and follow up with clients.

This position is open immediately for training with our current specialist.

The Interior Decorating faculty would like to wish Ann Smith a happy retirement. Ann has been a dedicated faculty member to both her colleagues and students. Her passion for the industry and subjects she has taught, Residential Decor, Period Styles I & II, and Drawing Skills to name a few. She will be truly missed but we wish her well in her new adventures.
