Reminder that the Fiddlehead Trail is currently partially closed as we extend the accessible boardwalk to the bridge! Crews are working hard to reopen as quickly as possible so everyone can access our beautiful trails.

NOTICE OF TRAIL CLOSURE: A section of Baxter's Fiddlehead Trail will be closed for construction as of Monday, April 20 as we build the final stretch of accessible boardwalk leading to our marshland bridge. Trail users can still access the bridge and lookout, but they'll have to go the long way around. Thank you for your patience as we make Baxter even more accessible to all!

The final 300 metres of Baxter Conservation Area's accessible boardwalk will be completed this summer, thanks to funding from the Government of Ontario's EASE grant! Since 2017, Baxter has been slowly transforming into Eastern Ontario's most accessible nature destination in collaboration with Rideau Valley Conservation Foundation and many generous funding partners. REMINDER! ⏰ Baxter's summer camp registration opens Tuesday, January 27 at noon. There are three camp streams this year:

🦎Salamanders: For ages 6 to 10, with focus on outdoor exploration, games, crafts and more (swimming option based on weather/water quality)

🐸Bullfrogs: For ages 9 to 12 with focus on wilderness skills, navigation and challenges (swimming option based on weather/water quality)

🌱Forest School: For ages 6 to 12 to try the Forest School method (No swimming or aftercare offered)
