Lynda Fish has created a birthday fundraiser in support of the Jardin communautaire Vanier Community Garden.

Dear friends/Chers amis,

This March 7th is truly a special birthday for me! In celebration, I have decided to host a birthday fundraiser in support of the “Jardin communautaire Vanier Community Garden”, a non-profit organization that is very near and dear to my heart. For over 15 years, the garden has provided a space for neighbours to grow together while combating food insecurity. I spend many fulfilling hours gardening there during the summer so that it then nourishes me over the winter.

We are greatly in need of funds to replace 26 rotting wooden garden boxes with new metal boxes that will stand up better against the elements over time.

This community garden means a lot to me. Whatever amount you might be able to contribute will be greatly appreciated, and I thank you. Un gros merci.

To donate and obtain a tax receipt, you have to go online to the following site: https://www.zeffy.com/fr-CA/donation-form/centre-des-services-communautaires-vanier Select amount, click continue to page 2, fill in your information, then in Questions, very important, select the first answer: Vanier Community Services Centre, then in Other type. Jardin communautaire Vanier Community Garden, submit and you're done! 💞

While we use the Jardin, it is important to realize we are interlopers to this land. There are many others using the same land close to the Jardin. Foxes, cayoties, and other wildlife.

Here is a new neighbour found in the sugar bush next door today.

Most compostable packaging still doomed to landfill | CBC News In Canada's capital (and across the country), compostable products are extremely likely to be screened out of municipal green bin collection and tossed in landfills, where they emit a much more potent contributor to climate change than carbon dioxide as they fail to break down as intended.
