Tomorrow (Friday, October 3) is Founder's Day, where we pay respect to the founders of our art and rededicate our commitment to our martial art.

For reasons not unknown to those close to me, I regret but am not able to attend the ceremony in person in Saskatoon. As I did during Covid, I will be having my own personal and private ceremony, this time indoors at the lake, and will post "before and after" pictures with a bit of information for those interested.

This year's timing is auspicious as my life is turning a new corner, if all legal matters are settled in the right timing, I may be living in my new home in just over two weeks' time, and finally have a place for a permanent home ancestor's altar - not religious, although revered - and permanent martial arts room for my notes, reference materials, clothing, and most importantly dedicated home practice space. My re-dedication to my art will carry a bit more weight as I begin to have more energy and time to call my own as I rebuild my school in Ottawa, and continue to return to this path of my choosing which feels also as if it chose me.

Options opening up include classes anywhere in the Byward Market area or the Bronson Centre, which would be ideal for weeknight class(es). A weekend class may be scheduled in/around the Richmond or Barrhaven area.

There are many options to explore so if you're interested in learning Jiulong Baguazhang we will be back in 2026 - stay tuned for announcements.
